According to DesignIntelligence, Harvard and Cal Poly stand out as the two highest-ranked architecture schools as judged by students, educators and professionals. Rice ranks close behind.
According to DesignIntelligence, Cal Poly ranks as the top undergraduate architecture school in 2014, while Harvard ranks as the top school for graduate studies. Harvard is rated the school most admired by academic deans for its history of academic excellence, superb facilities and esteemed faculty members. Eighty-three percent of Harvard architecture students rate the college's program as excellent. Harvard also ranks as the top school in terms of both design and cross-disciplinary teamwork.
Cal Poly takes home top honors for its undergraduate program while also receiving high marks in the fields of sustainable design practices, cross-disciplinary teamwork and construction methods and materials. Seventy-seven percent of Cal Poly architecture students surveyed award the school's program the highest possible rating.
Rice University also receives high praise, ranking as the third best architecture school for undergraduate students and the fifth best school for graduate students. Other highly ranked schools include Yale, Columbia, Cornell, the University of Southern California and Kansas State University.
