What Is the Gesell School Readiness Test?

The Gesell School Readiness Test, or GSRT, is a popular standardized test used to determine a child's readiness for learning within an educational environment. While many schools use this and other standardized school readiness tests, others have opted to take a more individualized educational approach.

School readiness tests, such as the Gesell School Readiness Test, are used to indicate children's readiness to attend kindergarten and in some cases are used to determine whether or not a child needs placement in a specialized educational program. Standardized testing is used with the notion that students must be developmentally able to function at a standard level to be successful in traditional educational settings.
