A funny saying about old age is, "As you get older, three things happen. The first is your memory goes, and I can't remember the other two." This quote comes from Sir Norman Wisdom, an English actor, comedian and singer-songwriter, who was born in 1915 and died in 2010.
Wisdom is best known for starring in slapstick comedies in the 1950s and 1960s, beginning with the 1953 film "Trouble in Store." In these slapstick films, he usually played the role of an awkward, incompetent working man named Norman Pitkin. Wisdom based this character on his stage character known as "the Gump," who wore a suit that was too small for him, a mangled tie and a tweed flat cap.
