Future Farmers of America offers three degrees at the chapter level and one each at the state and national levels. These are earned by developing academic, career and leadership skills.
Discovery degree candidates must take an agriculture class for the majority of their seventh or eighth grade year and pay dues. Greenhand degrees are earned at the chapter level. Candidates must know the history of FFA and make plans for a supervised cultural experience. Getting a chapter degree requires possession of a Greenhand degree, good grades and enrollment in an agriculture class. State degree candidates must have a chapter degree, and national degree candidates must have received at minimum the Greenhand, chapter and state degrees.
