Palm Beach State College has the lowest tuition among public four-year colleges in Florida. It offers tutoring services, counseling services and programs, services for students with disabilities, and career counseling and workshops.
Palm Beach State College, founded in 1933, is Florida's oldest public junior college. It is the sixth largest college in the Florida College system as of July 2015. The college has locations in Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens. It also has a satellite location in the Count and Countess de Hoernle Historic Building in West Palm Beach, home to the Institute of Excellence in Early Care and Education. An additional location in Loxahatchee Groves is projected to open in 2016.
Palm Beach State College offers many areas of study, including Business, Health Science, Computer Science and Information Technology, and Creative arts and Communications. It also offers bachelors programs in Applied Science and Nursing. Its Associate in Arts degree prepares students for transfer to Florida public universities or state colleges.
The Palm Beach State College Wellness Center offers educational programming and free fitness centers on the Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Lake Worth and Palm Beach Gardens campuses. Low-cost dental health services are also available on campus for students and community members.
