In 2015, Harvard University's Medical School was ranked as the number one medical school in the country by U.S. News and World Report. The school was established in 1782 and has since become affiliated with 16 of the world's most prestigious hospitals and research facilities. The school boasts of having a top-notch faculty made up of physicians, mentors and scholars. The faculty have been an integral force in the research community and in pushing health care needs, and have been recipients of international recognition for their work.
Oregon Health and Science University has been in existence for over a century. The school offers a plethora of medical degree programs as well as programs in nursing, dentistry and pharmacology. In 2015, the school was ranked fifth in the nation by U.S. News and World Report for its primary care education program. As of 2015, one third of all licensed physicians in Oregon received all or part of their education at OHSU.
