As of May 2015, the cost of online classes at the College of Western Idaho, or CWI, is $136 per credit, plus a $10 per credit hour online learning fee. The cost of taking a CWI class online is the same as the in-state cost for an on-campus course. Students just have to pay an additional online learning fee.
CWI offers online courses that students can take for credit to put towards a degree, or to take to increase their professional skills. The college offers seven associates degrees that can be completed entirely online: geography, business, political science, liberal arts, history, English and criminal justice. The college also has online courses that can count towards the requirements for General Education degrees, allowing students to complete at minimum 50 percent of their requirements online.
CWI is a public 2-year community college located in the southwest Idaho city of Nampa, on 101 acres. The school was founded in 2007 in the location of the former Boise State West Campus. As of 2015, it is one of only three community colleges in the state. CWI offers 60 programs and has approximately 19,861 students. In addition to online courses through CWI, the college partners with Ed2Go and Gatlin to offer 400 noncredit courses for students not looking to obtain a degree.
