One example of an inspiring quote is "Start by doing what's necessary; then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible," by Francis of Assisi. Another example is "Put your heart, mind, and soul into even your smallest acts. This is the secret of success," by Swami Sivananda.
Francis of Assisi was born Giovanni di Pietro di Bernardone in the late 12th century. He was an Italian Roman Catholic friar and preacher who founded groups such as the Order of Friars Minor, the Order of Saint Clare and the Third Order of Saint Francis. Canonized by Pope Gregory IX, Francis of Assisi is one of the most celebrated religious figures from history. He was designated the patron saint of Italy and was also associated with being a patron saint of animals and the environment. Another inspiring quote from him is "Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love."
Swami Sivananda was a Hindu spiritual teacher in the early- to mid-20th century. He taught yoga and Vedanta and also studied medicine. He worked as a physician in British Malaya before he took up a monastic way of life. In 1936 he founded the Divine Life Society and wrote over 200 books about yoga and Vedanta.
