As of 2015, prospective students can enroll in online courses at Harper College by finding an online class through the college's Class Schedule Search tool. Students can only register for classes at Harper College before the start of the semester with the Office of the Registrar by either coming in person or through email. Harper College classes are taken through either a full semester term or a late-start term on a per semester basis.
Harper College's online classes are available for student attendance at any time during the day. The classes are also designed to be collaborative in nature, allowing a high degree of student discussion and input. However, students taking Harper College's online classes still need to purchase all required course material, as not all of the class information is placed online. Course-related messages are sent to individual students' email accounts. Pertinent course information and announcements are also made on the course website; these include new discussion postings, specifications on assignments and general course information.
Students taking a Harper College online class should finish any assignment prior to the deadline to avoid submissions issues due to Internet connectivity. Professors can also take up to 48 hours to respond to any emails sent by online students.
