To enroll in Hofstra University online, visit the university's My Hofstra portal, and log into your student account. Then click on the Hofstra Online link, and navigate to the Registration option under the Student Services menu. This online registration service is only open to certain students, particularly undergraduates.
Hofstra uses its university portal as a hub page for many different online services, including online registration. Students must have their university account information ready to log in to register, though if they lack their username or password, they can receive assistance from Student Computing Services. If they are freshmen or non-preadvised graduate students, they also must have their alternate PIN, a special password that is given out for each semester being registered. An alternate PIN can be obtained from an academic adviser or graduate program director.
Once the registration option on the Hofstra Online page is opened, students can add or drop classes or request to be put on a wait list if the class is currently closed. Otherwise eligible students may be barred from registering if they have a hold on their account. Students can receive help with any holds or with any possible error messages during registration by contacting the offices of academic records and the registrar.
Hofstra University offers online registration only as an option for students enrolled in the Frank G. Zarb School of Business, the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the School of Communication, and the School of Education, Health, and Human Services. However, certain graduate students in majors related to biology or speech pathologies cannot register in this way. Undergraduate students in the NOAH program cannot register online; neither can students in the School for University Studies.
