Sample electronics training courses are the Online Electronics Technician Program from Penn Foster Career School, Basic Electronics from Ashworth College, the Basic Marine Electronics Installer Program from the National Marine Electronics Association and various programs from Extron Electronics. Courses are available either on-site or through distance learning.
Penn Foster's Online Electronics Technician Program provides students with online study of basic electronics, linear technology, digital technology and integrated circuit techniques. Students also learn how to install, repair, maintain and sell electronic products. Students can complete the program in five months and can view a sample lesson online before signing up.
Ashworth College's Basic Electronics program is also online, and students can complete the program in four months. The program is self-paced, but the school also offers academic support to students online.
Students seeking Certified Marine Electronic Technician statuses can enroll in the National Marine Electronics Association's Basic Marine Electronics Installer Program. The program covers topics such as DC wiring, EMI, coaxial cables, antennas and Ohms law.
Extron Electronic's training program offers regional training through several member schools, as well as online and video educational material for AV professionals. Students can visit the Extron Electronics website to locate a school near them.
