The Orange Unified School District offers technical education, special education, alternative education and traditional education. The district has various independent study programs for homeschooled or hospitalized students.
In addition to traditional K through 12 education, the district offers numerous special schools and programs beginning with preschool and pre-kindergarten education. For high school students, the district operates Career Technical Education programs at its four traditional high schools as well as the alternative Richland Continuation High School. The district provides special education services including the dedicated Canyon Hills school for special needs students.
The Orange Unified School District educates over 30,000 kindergarten through 12th grade students a year in the California cities of Orange and Villa Park and surrounding areas. The district operates five high schools, six middle schools and 27 elementary schools.
