Discovery Education focuses on digital, interactive solutions to education, and among the resources it provides to further this end include a digital Discovery Education Textbook series, assessment services, engagement programs and Digital Education Streaming Plus. Resources for educators include the Discovery Education Professional Development program and the Discovery Educator Network.
The Discovery Education Textbook series is a collection of digital textbooks that offer students multimodal content utilizing the latest technology. As of 2015, the digital textbook series includes the categories of science, mathematics and social studies. Courses include high school biology and chemistry, Algebra I and II, World Geography and Cultures, World History and U.S. History.
Digital Education Streaming Plus offers several standards-aligned resources to accompany the student curriculum, while the Discovery Education Professional Development program trains teachers in effective ways to use digital resources for education. Educators can also network with other educators from around the world via social media, virtual conferences and other events through the Discovery Educator Network.
Discovery Education also joins forces with other educational institutions to provide engagement programs that offer hands-on, interactive opportunities for students. As of 2015, these programs include the Young Scientist Challenge, Science Fair Central, Intel Digital Safety Program and Nave STEM for the Classroom.
