Elementary Chinese, Applications of Anthropology, Oral Radiology, Principles of Microeconomics and U.S. History to 1877 are some of the many courses available at Des Moines Area Community College, as of 2015. Des Moines Area Community College has many degree programs, diploma courses and specialty certificates that all have core course requirements and typically have elective courses. For example, the Accounting and Bookkeeping Diploma requires courses such as Principles of Accounting, Computer Accounting, Composition and Payroll Accounting. It also allows students to choose between Business Math or Finite Math and between Income Tax Accounting, Payroll Certification Review or the Accounting Internship.
