The Universal Technical Institute offers courses in automotive engines and repair, professional service writing, automotive power trains, electronic technology and advanced diagnostic systems as of 2015. Automotive Technician Training is one program; others include Collision Repair and Refinish, Diesel and Industrial Technician Training, Marine Technician Training, Motorcycle Technician Training and NASCAR Tech.
The Automotive Technician Training program includes courses in brakes, climate control, driveability and emissions, and power and performance. The National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation provides a Master Certification to the program, and those who successfully complete the courses can move on to take the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence tests.
The Collision Repair and Refinish Program teaches students structural damage analysis, structural alignment, structural replacement, custom paint application and custom body problems. The Universal Technical Institute works with I-CAR to teach high collision repair standards and operations.
Diesel and Industrial Technician Training provides trucks and equipment from major truck companies such as Caterpillar, Cummins and Daimler Trucks to give students practical experience in the technician field. The Motorcycle Technician Training program focuses on the troubleshooting and repair of street bikes, sport bikes and dirt bikes, while the Marine Technician Training program offers classes in rigging and boat engines. The NASCAR program enables students to study NASCAR vehicle repair and maintenance.
