Schneider is a trucking company that does not offer school programs that train drivers to obtain their commercial driver's license, or CDL. However, as of March 2015, Schneider offers up to $6,000 in tuition reimbursement to new drivers if they are hired within 4 months of graduation.
Schneider also offers loans for refresher courses to anyone hired over 4 months after their graduation but who do not have professional driving experience. Drivers obtain their CDL through their state rather than a trucking school. To receive a CDL, drivers are required to pass skills and knowledge tests to demonstrate that they have the ability to drive a commercial truck.
