How Do You Get Free Continuing Education Credits in Radiology?

The Institute for Advanced Medical Education, Virtual Radiologic, the International Center for Postgraduate Medical Education and MedScape offer free continuing medical education credits in radiology. Online CME lectures, courses and radiology cases provide Category 1 CME credits accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.

IAME’s free radiology courses cover topics including breast imaging, vascular ultrasound, contrast enhanced MRA of the body and best practices in advanced abdominal CT. IAME lists free radiology courses under “CME from Applied Radiology.”

Virtual Radiologic publishes recorded modules including MRI of the Female Pelvis: Interesting and Instructive Cases, Architectural Distortion in Breast Imaging and a Review of Pediatric Neuroradiology lecture. The organization also streams six live lectures a year that count towards CME credits.

The ICPME has live and archived webinars for CME credit including Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Breast MRI Case Review and State of the Art Mammography. Paid courses include 12 sessions of recorded classes and lectures from national radiology conferences worth 25 CME credits.

MedScape categorizes its CME courses by journal articles, clinical briefs, patient cases and practice and knowledge.
