Pearson’s MyMathLab is an instructor-led interactive toolkit designed to teach students concepts in mathematics and statistics; the access kit provides the code necessary to get into the system. Without this access kit’s code, students cannot access any online course materials in MyMathLab.
MyMathLab provides dozens of interactive tutorials, animations and practice homework exercises based on materials in the textbook. Guided solutions and feedback comments are built into the system to help students learn from their mistakes and prevent future mistakes. The online gradebook, which is linked to the instructor’s gradebook, provides reports and charts to track the student’s progress and identify weak areas. A multimedia e-book and personalized study plan are also included in MyMathLab.
In order to use MyMathLab, students first need to register on Pearson’s website at pearsonmylabandmastering.com with a valid email address, a course ID provided by the instructor and the access code. If the access code is not included with the textbook, students need to purchase it separately. Access codes can only be used once. If a student is using a book that’s already been used before, its access code is no longer valid, and the student must purchase the access kit to get access to online MyMathLab resources.
