Two United States colleges that offer free tuition to students who meet certain requirements are the William E. Macaulay Honors College at the City University of New York and the College of the Ozarks. In addition, all U.S. service academies offer free tuition to students enrolled in their college programs.
The College of the Ozarks is located in Port Lookout, Missouri. The school is free to all enrolled full-time students using a combination of scholarships, federal grants and work programs. Each academic year, students are expected to work 15 hours each week to help cover the cost of tuition, plus two 40-hour work weeks. This covers about $4,242 of the $18,300 yearly tuition, as of 2015. Students who are qualified to receive Federal and Missouri financial aid can use that to help cover tuition. The remaining balance is paid for by a College of the Ozarks Scholarship.
The William E. Macaulay Honors College at The City University of New York is a high-level college within the CUNY system. Students who are residents of New York state and are accepted into the college receive full scholarships to cover tuition. Students also receive free or discounted entry to various institutions around New York City and Opportunities Fund grants to support their internships and research.
