Major four-year colleges and universities in San Antonio include University of the Incarnate Word, Trinity University, the University of Texas at San Antonio and St. Mary's University. Enrollments at the schools range from roughly 2,300 (Trinity) to nearly 29,000 (UTSA).
The largest Catholic university in Texas, Incarnate Word allows students to choose from 80 undergraduate and graduate fields of study. The academics at Trinity attract students from all over the globe; at least 47 states and 67 countries are represented at the liberal arts school.
UTSA offers 158 degree programs, and its $51.4 million in expenditures have earned it recognition as a Tier One research institution. St. Mary's offers a number of pre-professional programs, with 93 percent of professors holding a Ph.D. or equivalent in their respective fields.
