A checklist for furnishing a college dorm or apartment includes necessary items a student needs when moving away from home. The checklist includes various items, such as a couch for the living room, bedding for dorm rooms, study equipment like a computer or laptop, cooking and bathing necessities and personal items, such as clothes, hair dryers and towels.
A checklist for a college dorm typically includes a comforter and pillow for the bed provided, a mini refrigerator, lamps, a wastebasket, laundry hamper, personal computer, rugs, towels and linens, clothes for every season of the school year and personal hygiene items, such as shaving cream, hairspray, soap, shampoo and conditioner, razors, deodorant, curling or flat irons and toothpaste.
In addition, students need cleaning supplies to dust furniture, mop floors, scrub counters and tubs, and vacuum personal spaces. If a kitchen is available in the dorm, the checklist can also include non-perishable food items, such as a skillet, pan or other utensils. If a student is moving into an apartment, she needs many of the same items as moving into a dormitory. Conversely, she needs furniture to furnish each room, such as a bed, dresser, vanity, couch, end table, coffee table, kitchen table, a set of chairs and a television.
