The Texas Education Agency offers practice reading passages for the STAAR test in the form of released tests from previous years for grades three through eight and official sample questions. Students access practice reading questions by selecting the applicable links for their current grade level and downloading PDF versions of reading test forms, answer keys and sample questions. The Texas Education Agency also offers practice reading passages for the STAAR test in Spanish for grades three through five.

TestPrepPreview.com offers STAAR practice reading passages that are organized based on the level of schooling as of August 2015. Students access the STAAR practice reading passages by selecting one of the links for reading practice questions found under either Elementary School for grades three through five or Middle School for grades six through eight. TestPrepPreview.com displays STAAR practice reading passages and questions in a Web page with answers to the practice questions at the end of the practice passages so students can access them without a PDF reader.

Students who are interested in STAAR practice math assessments and STAAR practice assessments for high school subjects can access them through the Texas Education Agency's STAAR Web page and TestPrepPreview.com as of August 2015.
