Often, study guides are available from the applicable state website, as in the case of Massachusetts and New York. These are generally itemized by job title, such as correction officer or caseworker.
Study guides or test guides are not usually available for every exam, however. If there is a study guide available for a given position, it will be listed on the examination announcement, at least in the case of New York.
The aim of these study guides is to familiarize prospective candidates with the format and material of the examination. The questions will be similar to, but not the same as, those that will appear in the actual test.
