When students log in to Raz-Kids, they have access to over 400 ebooks, including books in Spanish. Students may also take quizzes and complete assignments to test their comprehension. Teachers can log in to evaluate student progress and run reports.
Raz-Kids is an online reading tool for students from kindergarten through fifth grade. Using the system, students can read or listen to books on a mobile device, record themselves reading so that a teacher can assess their skills, or take quizzes to test their knowledge. Teachers can use the tool to assign reading and evaluate student progress.
Raz-Kids is also designed to help both teachers and students succeed with the new Common Core State Standards. Raz-Kids has developed resources that target CCSS points of emphasis and utilize technology so that teachers can save time. The site offers free online webinars that show teachers how to integrate the system solutions with any specific curriculum.
Another feature available to students is the Raz Rocket, which gives students an opportunity to earn stars for completion of, or success with, reading, listening, quizzes and assignments. The students then use their stars to purchase accessory items to customize the Raz Rocket and create a unique robot using the Robot Builder. As students earn stars, they move up in rank. They can see their ranking when they log in.
