Free Accuplacer test prep materials, including practice questions, can be found at CollegeBoard.org under the Accuplacer category. This website provides a downloadable PDF with sample Accuplacer questions, as well as a web-based study app that gives sample questions and explanations.
The downloadable PDF provides sample questions in sentence structure, reading comprehension, writing and mathematical skills through college-level. The question set also contains questions for English as a Second Language students in basic usage of the English language. An answer key to all questions is provided.
The study app allows six months of free access through a computer, tablet, or smartphone. The app provides questions in the same categories as the downloadable PDF, but the online format helps students practice using a similar environment as the actual Accuplacer exam. Explanations are given for each practice question and summaries are provided to help students identify areas that need extra work. The app also allows the user to save progress and continue at a later time.
Accuplacer is a College Board exam used as a placement test by many colleges. The test measures student knowledge in math, reading and writing, and the test results are used to place students in the appropriate college courses. The test is not timed, and is responsive to student answers. Level of difficulty increases with correct responses in order to measure the highest level of knowledge in each category.
