To register to take a GED test, simply go to gedtestingservice.com and click on the "ScheduleNow" button. From there, you will have to create an account, and if you meet your area's testing requirements, you will see a yellow "Start Scheduling" button.
Unfortunately, each state has its own rules in regards to taking the GED test. Different states have different requirements about the cost of the test, time limits for taking the test and even whether the test can be administered or not. If you happen to live in one of the 10 states which does not offer a GED test, you can always take the test in a neighboring state, as GED transcripts are typically recognized on a national basis.
The GED test actually consists of four subjects: language arts, mathematical reasoning, science and social studies. While it is recommended to study, it is not a compulsory requirement. Still, there are thousands of test preparation centers located throughout the United States to assist prospective test-takers.
