Full Answer

The Purdue OWL's sample paper is 11 pages long and includes a title page, abstract, reference list and appendices, in addition to the paper itself. In the margins of the paper are green and blue boxes with directions for how to write in the APA style. Green boxes contain explanations of the APA style guidelines, while blue boxes give information about writing and citing in APA format. This sample paper also includes links to pages on the Purdue OWL's website that relate to the aspect of APA style in question.

APAStyle.org offers three sample papers on its website: two experiment papers and one meta-analysis paper. Only the first experiment paper includes all necessary parts; the other two papers leave out the features shared in common with the first experiment paper. The full sample paper includes all the same features as the Purdue OWL's, as well as footnotes, tables and charts, but is not available to read in full. Various pages from a selected paper are given, with text boxes and arrows to indicate key features of APA style and formatting, and directions to relevant sections of the APA Style Guide for further information.
