French language learning games can be found on many websites including Digital Dialects, Internet Polyglot and French-Games. Most games on these sites are designed for beginner to intermediate learners.
The Digital Dialects site offers users a variety of interactive games in basic subjects such as colors, numbers, food and units of time. Other topics include phrases and greetings, fruits and vegetables, clothing and animals. The site also lists separate categories for verbs and spelling, and an advanced section which offers games focused on verb conjugation and vocabulary building.
The Internet Polyglot website allows users to play games focused on real life situations such as driving, eating in restaurants and dealing with professionals. Users can also create their own lessons and share them with others. Once a user registers with the site, it tracks their progress and focuses on teaching words or phrases the user has trouble with.
The French-Games website has six different games which are generated by the user after selecting one of over 100 topics, including animals, grammar, people, school and time. Users select a category and then select the style of game they wish to play, such as hangman, mix and match or four in a row. The site also offers other French learning tutorials and tests.
