Any nursing student can practice his terminology by using one of the many practice test resources found online. The American Association of Medical Assistants has a test available that students can print out at home and take and later review online.
Nursing students wanting to practice using the test questions on the AAMA website should be aware that none of the questions found on their practice test are going to be found certification or recertification tests. However, it does give students the opportunity to practice terminology, as well as anatomy and physiology questions.
Other similar tests are available on the Learning Nurse Resource Network. This website covers a wider range of practice content including specific types of terminology such as disease, anatomy and medical terminology. They also offer a practice quiz on root words, which covers some of the many medical prefixes and suffixes.
The Learning Nurse Resource Network also features a wide variety of games students can use to practice as well. The games available cover not only terminology, but other fields in the nursing occupation including patient care, infection diseases and end-of-life care. Most of the games have been developed with HTML5, meaning any nursing student that wishes to use them should have the most updated browser available in order to play them at home.
