Information about specific subjects or specialized education can be found on many websites, including SHAPE America, Next Generation Science and the National Association for Gifted Children.
As of 2015, the Education World website offers users information collected from sources such as the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, the Center for Civic Education and the National Academies of Science. It also provides subject materials for teachers and administrators such as lesson plans, technology, games and tools for student motivation and management. The Core Standards website offers users explanations on what Common Core education is, what parents should know, how the standards differ by state and how they differ from previously used teaching methods. The site also provides specific information about mathematics and English language arts standards.
Curriculum standards for physical education can be found on the Shape America website. Resources for health education, dance, sports coaching and adapted physical education for students with disabilities are provided. The Next Generation Science website provides information designed by The National Research Council of the National Academy of Sciences, which developed and released new science education standards in July of 2011. The National Association of Gifted Children site offers resources for teaching gifted learners, including topics such as assessments, curriculum and instruction, learning environments and professional development.
