The Common Core State Standards Initiative offers comprehensive information about Common Core, including a section specifically about things parents should know, at CoreStandards.org. On this site, parents can learn about the development process, find out the standards in their state, and see how common core applies to students with disabilities.
Parents can also find more information about Common Core through the National Parent-Teacher Association. PTA.org provides a Parents' Guide to Student Success that provides explanations of what students should be learning at each grade level to prepare for college and careers. These guides include the key items students should be learning in English and math, activities parents can do with children to enhance their learning experience, and ways to help children better connect with their teachers.
