There are several grade-point calculators for college available online, provided by the Minnesota Office of Higher Education at Ohe.State.mn.us and websites such as Back2College.com. A points-grade calculator for individual grades is also available through Mercer.edu.
A grade-point average is calculated by dividing a grade by the number of attempted credit hours. Many college classes are the equivalent of three credit hours. Each grade has a representative grade-point number. For example, an A-minus at most colleges is typically represented by 3.7 grade points. Typically, grades for classes that have a Pass/No Pass option are not reflected in the GPA. Additionally, incomplete grades or withdrawals are not counted toward a GPA.
