The UC Davis housing-application process varies depending on which housing area the student is applying to and the student's enrollment status. Applications are available through the UC Davis housing website. Students applying to the dorms fill out an electronic application and submit the appropriate fee, while students interested in living in the co-ops or apartments submit documents to Student Housing.
UC Davis has also partnered with privately owned apartment buildings to provide alternate on-campus housing options. Student Housing does not facilitate the application process for these buildings, which have their own application processes. They are primarily targeted to graduate students or students with families, though undergraduate students are welcome to apply to some of them.
Undergraduate students primarily live in the Segundo, Tercero and Cuarto housing complexes. Unlike Segundo and Tercero, the Cuarto housing complex is located slightly off-campus and has one dining common available.
Transfer students follow a slightly different application process than freshmen and returning students do. Transfer students who enter during the winter or spring quarters are permitted to apply, but low vacancy rates mean that rooms are offered as they become available. In general, students who fail to complete the housing application on time are offered space if available, but cannot be guaranteed housing.
