From an administrative perspective, Odysseyware enables educators to supplement their curricula while managing their classrooms with the aid of a fully trained support staff. Benefits to students include tracking Adequate Yearly Progress and Response to Intervention and access to educational materials at home.
Odysseyware focuses on students in third through 12th grade. As of May 2015, it doesn't serve kindergarten through second grade. That said, Odysseyware still follows the K-12 Common Core Standards Initiative, for state standards, and the Career and Technical Education curriculum. The software itself provides more than 60 different courses to give students a multitude of learning materials for lessons in math, science, history and English. The learning materials are all provided in English, but Odysseyware does offer education in other languages, such as Spanish, French and German.
Additional benefits include accreditation and remedial courses for students who have fallen behind their peers, particularly in the form of training for general educational development. Conversely, the program can also accelerate learning and accreditation for some students who learn at a faster rate than their classmates. The software can tailor learning plans to fit each individual student's pace, a technique that results in a more efficient teaching method for educators.
