MobyMax's math program aids student learning by reducing needless exercise repetition, identifying individual areas of struggle, employing ongoing progress monitoring and utilizing problems accompanied by animation and instant feedback. The program's overall design increases student participation and reduces the need for teacher aid.
MobyMax reduces needless exercise repetition by moving the student to the next level once he has mastered a concept or skill. The program's assessment technology identifies the student's mastery in individual areas and presents the next material based on this assessment. If the student is struggling in a particular area, the program adjusts to give him more practice. It also includes frequent review where necessary.
MobyMax Math incorporates ongoing student progress monitoring that utilizes placement tests to identify weak spots in a student's math abilities. The feature updates itself to provide current information. The games feature animation to make the educational experience more engaging to children, in addition to providing instant feedback.
Two components of the program are Fact Master and Number Sense. Fact Master focuses on developing fluency in math facts related to addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and Number Sense approaches the topic in a more intuitive way through games such as "Fighting Ninja Panda." To increase effectiveness, Number Sense includes an interactive component in which students literally move the numbers around on their screen.
