Gain experience working as a compliance officer. In order to apply for certification, most compliance officers must have a minimum of three years experience working in compliance and have experience filing compliance paperwork and compliance reviews.
Enroll in classes for certification at an accrediting agency in your community or through an online program. In order to take the certification exam, most programs require individuals to participate in at least 80 hours of compliance training classes. The hourly requirement must be fulfilled within five years prior to applying to take the certification exam.
Sign up to take the compliance certification exam, and produce a score that meets the minimum requirements set by the accrediting agency.
