What Is a B.A. Degree?

A B.A. degree is a Bachelor of Arts degree in a particular field. According to California Polytechnic State University, a Bachelor of Arts degree primarily encompasses areas of study such as history, language, literature and other humanities.

Lehigh University describes a Bachelor of Arts degree as being more flexible than a Bachelor of Science in that there are only 30 or 40 required credits thus leaving more room in a student’s schedule for electives or to pursue another area of study.
