What Are Some of the Average SAT Scores That Most Colleges Require?

A score of 1500 on the SAT is the national average and is good enough to get into most colleges and universities. This is assuming the student's academic record is up to par. Different colleges have different standards for admission.

Some schools weigh the SAT score more heavily than the GPA, and vice versa. Other schools place more emphasis on extracurricular activities and the quality of the college admission essay. A low GPA may require a higher than average SAT score to get accepted to a college. Some schools no longer require applicants to submit a SAT score on their application, as of 2015.
