The Art Institute of Seattle is a private, for-profit college located in Seattle, Wash. It teaches culinary arts, design, fashion and media arts. The Art Institute of Seattle was originally founded as the Burnley School of Professional Art, but since 1982, it has been one of over 50 for-profit colleges run by the Education Management Corporation.
The Art Institute of Seattle's culinary division allows students to focus on culinary arts or culinary management. Design students can focus on advertising, graphic and web design, industrial design and interior design. Fashion students choose between a focus on fashion design or fashion marketing. Media arts students have the largest number of options, choosing between animation, audio production, digital film, game design and programming, photography and special effects. The college offers 12 different bachelor's degrees, 12 associate's degrees and four diploma programs.
The Art Institute of Seattle offers free career placement services to its students. It boasts of employment statistics that show that between 62.5 percent and 100 percent of their bachelor's degree alumni are employed in the field of their choice. Those with either a bachelor's or associate's degree in web design and interactive media have a 100 percent job placement rate. Scholarships and financial aid are available to applicants.
