Classes in AdventureQuest Worlds, or AQW, are categories of players with specific skills, abilities and fighting styles. There are four starting classes that players choose from at the beginning of the game and 59 classes of lore that players can master as they advance and become more adept.
When players begin the game after opening an account, they choose to be a healer, mage, warrior or rogue. Each class comes with a default weapon, five skills and some passive abilities. Through adroit game play, skills can be enhanced and allies acquired. For instance, a warrior receives the skills of auto attack, decisive strike, imbalancing strike, prepared strike and on guard. Passive abilities are aggression and resolution. Possible enhancements include strength, dexterity, endurance and luck. A good ally for a warrior is a healer. Through defeating enemies and completing quests, players receive reputation, rank, experience and gold.
AdventureQuest Worlds is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, or MMORPG. AQW was released in October 2008 by Artix Entertainment. Though it is free and no download or installation is required to play it on a Web browser, additional special content is available on a subscription basis. As of 2014, over 35 million accounts have been created. Players either cooperate or compete with each other in real time to win battles and fight monsters. The storyline is continually evolving. Though a player joins a specific class to start, eventually it is possible to learn all of the skills.
