Students can apply to Alvin Community College by completing an application online and providing the vaccination requirement. They also have to provide official transcripts to verify their previous education.
Applicants who have graduated from high school and have never attended college need to submit their high school transcripts. Candidates who have passed the General Educational Development test must provide the official report of their results. Applicants who have attended other colleges or universities must provide an official transcript from each school. Students have to take Alvin Community College’s mandatory placement exam.
Students who are attending college for the first time meet with an academic adviser at Alvin Community College and participate in orientation. Orientation takes place prior to the fall and spring semesters on the campus. Students can register for classes online or in person. They can make their payments online or in person by cash or check. Installment payment plans are available.
International applicants must fill out an application and mail it to the International Students Services Office. They have to provide official transcripts demonstrating completion of at least four years of high school. They also have to submit the completed sponsor's declaration form or the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services affidavits of support. The sponsors cannot be M-1 or F-1 visa students. Students who come from non-English speaking countries have to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language and send their score reports to the college.
