Students who are attending college for the first time meet with an academic adviser at Alvin Community College and participate in orientation. Orientation takes place prior to the fall and spring semesters on the campus. Students can register for classes online or in person. They can make their payments online or in person by cash or check. Installment payment plans are available.

International applicants must fill out an application and mail it to the International Students Services Office.
