On a numeric scale, a 3.5 GPA would translate to an average of 90 percent for all of the student’s classes. The GPA is on a 4.0 scale, so a GPA of a 4.0 would translate to a percentile score between 95 and 100. Students should keep in mind that certain universities and colleges may use percentage scores instead of grade point averages to assess achievement.
