According to Business Insider in April, 2015, the ten best medical schools include Columbia University, University of Iowa's Carver College and University of Rochester. A few other schools on the list are Oregon Health and Science University, University of Wisconsin at Madison and University of Washington.
Columbia University hit the list at number 10 and it offers a five-week clinical clerkship in the student's desired field of study. Indiana University at Indianapolis was number nine and has over 25 departments of medical study from which students can choose. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is number seven with a specialty in primary care study. Number six is the University of Rochester, which places graduates into top residency programs that include the University of Pennsylvania, Brown University and Yale University.
The Oregon Health and Science University makes the list at number five and it offers third-year students the chance to complete clerkship in many specialties. Number four is the University of Colorado at Denver, where students complete three phases of study for a comprehensive understanding of their field, including essential core courses, clinical core and advanced studies. Number two on the list is the University of California at San Francisco, and it boasts seven sites across the city, a strong academic program and an award-winning faculty. The number one spot on the list goes to the University of Washington, due to its emphasis on primary care.
