To write a thank-you letter after a job interview or after receiving a job offer, address the interviewer and reaffirm your strengths and qualifications for the job. Include your contact information at the top of the letter, then thank the interviewer for his time.
- Type your personal information
Type your name, address, email address and other contact information at the top of the page. Make sure that your name is in bold letters, and type the other information underneath your name in a smaller font. Apply a border to separate your personal information from the rest of the letter.
- Type the body of the letter
Make sure to double space between the paragraphs and justify all paragraphs to the left margin. Write the date underneath the border and left margin justified. Type your interviewer's name, title, the name and address of the company as a separate paragraph. In the next paragraph, address the interviewer with "Dear," a salutation and the interviewer's last name. Begin the first paragraph of the letter by thanking the interviewer for his time. Continue the letter by addressing your strengths and qualifications.
- End the letter
Use the last paragraph to thank the interviewer again. Close the letter by using words such as "Sincerely" or "Warm appreciation." Double space between the closing statement and your name.
