What Are Some Ways to Pay Your State Taxes in Ohio?

Ohio taxpayers can make state tax payments through the Ohio ePayment site, according to the state's Department of Taxation. Users can pay using an electronic check or major credit card, including American Express, Discover, MasterCard or Visa.

Individuals can make payments for both individual income taxes and school district income taxes with payment being applied to either an initial return, extension, estimated tax or amended return, explains the state's Department of Taxation. Electronic check payments are similar to bank charges made using a debit card, with funds being withdrawn within 24 hours. Credit card payments must be made through Official Payments Corporations, which charges a service fee relative to the amount of the payment. Individuals can also split payments between the two methods.
