Visibility is key to attracting customers to a yard sale of any type. When organizing a neighborhood-wide yard sale, the first step is establishing a consistent method and plan for local, physical advertising. When making street signs, make sure to use the same color paper on all signs, so that anyone who sees them knows they are for the same sale. Write in large, legible print with a thick black marker to maximize readability, and be sure to include relevant information, such as time, date and location.
For indoors advertising, create a flier that has all details in legible printed fonts. Do not use handwriting, as it seems both unprofessional and can be difficult to read. Post fliers in coffee shops or community centers on the designated community news boards. Posting fliers in any other area can result in them being removed by staff.
All online listings for yard sales should also include clear information about the exact location of the sale and the hours it is intended to be active.Learn more about Marketing & Sales
