The Door County Challenge Walk MS 2015 takes place in Egg Harbor, Wisconsin. There are also walk events for multiple sclerosis in De Pere, Eau Claire, La Crosse, Marshfield and Appleton, Wisconsin. Additionally, many walks occur all over the country during MS Awareness Week.
Walk MS is a foundation that connects people who are dealing with multiple sclerosis as well as the loved ones who are taking care of them. When people participate in a Walk MS community event, the funds that are raised helps those who are impacted by multiple sclerosis.
MS Awareness Week occurs one time a year in March and strives to fast track the multiple sclerosis movement to make more of an impact. The activities that occur during the week ensure that those who are affected with the disease can be heard through connecting with others and sharing their stories.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a disabling, unpredictable disease that affects the central nervous system and stops the flow of information to the brain and communication between the brain and body.
The cause of multiple sclerosis is unknown. However, scientists think that a certain environmental factor triggers it in people who are genetically predisposed to be affected. This factor remains unidentified as of 2015.
