Vinyl jackets can be protected with any vinyl dressing that is water-based and does not contain oil, wax, silicon or abrasive. Storage out of direct sunlight and heat can further protect the garment.
Vinyl fabric has a plastic coating that can be damaged by sunlight, abrasion, heat, solvents and perspiration. The use of a garment bag helps to prevent sticking to other clothing. Staying away from heat sources and chemicals further protects a garment. Additional coatings or sprays are not needed to preserve the surface.
Clean vinyl garments with warm water and a small amount of mild dish detergent. Rinse well with clean water and hang to dry. Harsh cleaning solvents and cleansers can dull the vinyl surface.
