As of March 2015, users find homes for rent on Trulia by clicking Homes for Rent on the Rent drop-down menu, according to the company's website. The basic search narrows homes for rent by city and state or ZIP code, and other search filters narrow results further.
Potential renters may filter a location search by price range, number of bedrooms and number of bathrooms, notes Trulia. Other filters for an advanced search include homes that allow pets, square footage, unit amenities and a custom keyword filter. The price range goes from $400 up to $15,000. Bedrooms range from zero to five, and bathrooms range from one to five. Unit amenities include a dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, garbage disposal and washer/dryer.
Available homes get displayed in a list format, by photos or on a map, says Trulia. Users sort homes for rent by featured listings, number of photos, newest listing, ascending price and descending price. Other sorting criteria include bedrooms, bathrooms and square footage. Fifteen homes appear per page on the list and photo formats, whereas every listing appears on the map feature. The map allows users to zoom in, zoom out and scroll in every direction.
Individuals can save a search, contact various properties and list a property, according to Trulia. Some features require a user to create an account, which includes logging in with Facebook or using an email and password combination.
