You can use electronic checks with PayPal by linking your PayPal account to a bank account of yours and pull funds directly from that bank account for payment. When you send money via an electronic check or eCheck, PayPal debits your bank account for the full payment amount, regardless of your PayPal account balance.
You use an eCheck as an electronic transfer of funds from your bank account to the recipient's PayPal account.
First, connect your bank account to your PayPal account. This step takes three to five days and involves getting your bank account verified. After establishing the connection, log into your PayPal account, click the Send Money button from the top bar, fill in the recipient's PayPal email address and the amount of the money. Choose if the payment is Personal or Business, and then click the Continue button.
Click the Change button in the Payment Method section, select eCheck and press the Continue button. Verify all the information and click the Send Money button.
You can only use a PayPal eCheck for a payment if the seller does not require an instant payment, because it takes between three to four business days within the United States and seven business days outside of the United States for an eCheck to clear.
